Demand More Milwaukee Nurses

The Future of Our Healthcare Depends on It!

Wisconsin’s nursing shortage is reaching near-crisis levels, meaning we don’t have enough nurses to meet our healthcare needs. Simply put: We need more quality nurses in our workforce to ensure Wisconsinites have access to medical care.

As the Wisconsin Center for Nursing has outlined, Wisconsin’s nursing shortage is a growing problem with vacancy rates for registered nurse positions more than doubling from 2020 to 2021. Wisconsin faces a potential deficit of 20,000 nurses by 2040, highlighting the need for healthcare workers who will stay in Wisconsin after they complete their education. Wisconsin’s sick, elderly, and youth are depending on a strong healthcare workforce, and this shortage is problematic.

Just as concerning, Wisconsin has more qualified students seeking to become nurses than spots in nursing schools. Hundreds of students are reported as being turned down by Milwaukee area nursing programs each year. To help reduce Wisconsin’s nursing shortage, we need more nursing schools that can give these qualified students the opportunity to serve their community’s healthcare needs.

Arizona College of Nursing is seeking to build a campus here in Milwaukee to help Wisconsin reduce its nursing shortage. With over 30 years in higher education, Arizona College of Nursing is committed to providing more educational opportunities for nurses who are trained to serve their communities, offering a 3 year path to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Arizona College of Nursing is proud to place over 90% of our graduating students within 100 miles of our campuses and that our nursing exam (NCLEX) pass rate are in line with Wisconsin averages. In 2023, Arizona College of Nursing had an 89.74% NCLEX rate, which is higher than the 80% pass rate requirement in Wisconsin and higher than Wisconsin’s 88.39% average. In Q4 2023, Arizona College of Nursing Students achieved a 96.04% first-time NCLEX pass rate.

We have an opportunity now to address the nursing shortage. Please join us in voicing your support for more skilled nurses trained in the Milwaukee area:
